A Cozy Guide to Indoor Camping
Indoor camping can be a great way to feel cozy and have a little bit of adventure while having to stay inside. Whether you have a family or just want to do something fun with your partner, roomie, (or pets!) there are a lot of options.
Create Your Shelter
Start by setting up your space. If you have a tent, you can absolutely use it, but building a blanket fort can feel just as cozy. Drape blankets over couches, chairs, or boxes to create a soft, enclosed space that feels tucked away and comfortable.
Make It Comfortable
Focus on layering comfort. Add sleeping pads, blankets, and plenty of pillows to create a space that feels warm and inviting. The softer and more relaxed it feels, the more you’ll want to settle in and stay awhile.
Prepare Simple, Cozy Snacks
Choose snacks that feel warm and comforting. A pot of tea, fresh baked goods, or homemade treats can make the experience feel more intentional. If you want to lean into the camping theme, you can still make simple versions of classic treats like s’mores at home.
Slow Down with Games
Indoor camping is a great opportunity to step away from screens for a bit. Bring out a favorite board game or a deck of cards and enjoy a slower, more present way to pass the time.
Set the Lighting
Lighting plays a big role in creating the atmosphere. Use lanterns, flashlights, or soft, warm lamps to create a gentle glow. Adding twinkle lights can make the space feel even more magical, like sitting under a starry night sky.
Wind Down with a Story
As the evening slows, consider ending the night with a book. You can read quietly to yourself or take turns reading aloud, which adds a shared, nostalgic element to the experience.
Bring in Nature Sounds
If you’d like to add to the atmosphere, play soft nature sounds in the background, rain, forest ambience, or a crackling campfire. It’s a simple way to make your space feel even more immersive and calm. If you have a screen you can even play an ambient nature video as well.
Step Outside (If You Can)
If you have access to a patio or yard, you can take your indoor camping outside for a bit. Even a short walk before settling in can make the experience feel more like a true camping evening. There’s nothing better then getting to head inside and be cozy after being outdoors.
Bring the Outdoors in
If you’re creating a little indoor escape, adding a simple nature-inspired print can help tie the space together and bring in that quiet, outdoorsy feeling—even from inside. At Cozy Club, our prints are designed with that same sense of calm in mind—soft, nature-inspired pieces meant to complement slow, cozy moments like these.
